To wit:
· The meeting was presided by the batch president RAYMOND A. BONIFACIO, initially emphasizing the purpose of the meeting, as follows:
- To discuss significant updates pertaining to our 25th SILVER ANNIVERSARY Event which is set to happen 189 days from now.
- The current status of THOR Blocked Screening ticket sales
· Raymond restated the final agreed date of the event, which is March 29, 2014, 6PM. Venue is RUBLOU Events Place Function Room at the 3rd Floor of RUBLOU Market Place Mall, Ortigas Ave. Extn., Cainta, Rizal. Having a maximized seating capacity of 250 persons, including the use of the veranda, air-conditioned and has an ample parking space in front and at the back parking lot owned by RUBLOU.
· Raymond also stressed that AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, he and the rest of the officers would really want the event to be a “FREE FOR ALL” event. Meaning, no single cent shall be collected from all SCT BATCH 89 members, with all of us having the luxury of:
- Partying out from 6:00 pm 'til we drop
- Using an air-conditioned function room
- Eating a smorgasbord / buffet type of meal with professional waiters and bartenders serving
- Drinking spree for all of us (beers and other alcoholic drinks everywhere)
- Enjoy, dance and sing to the groove of a live band playing the music of our lives, complete with professional sounds and lights system set-up
- Professional photographers and videographers capturing every moment of our event.
- A chance to win in RAFFLE DRAWS with prizes such as Home appliances and modern gadgets
- Go home with event souvenirs and other event surprises
Definitely an unforgettable night for all of us! But then again, FREE for ALL would only happen if we can achieve the target budget through the following channels:
o Existing Batch ‘89 Budget (Savings in BDO Bank)
o Pledges from our generous batchmates (local and abroad)
o Fund raising activity (THOR Blocked Screening in November, 2013)
o Corporate and group sponsorships
Our ever diligent and energetic PRO 1, Hershey Jaranilla has unleashed the first pledge and is currently taking care of contacting our other batchmates, who are scattered all over the planet for more pledges. Hope all pledges are in (not verbal pledges), I mean, either cash or in kind on hand already, AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE, on or before October 24, 2013 for us to determine the final price of the ticket, if in case we will not be able to achieve the projected budget for the “FREE for ALL”. Ticket distribution starts November 1, 2013 with Early Bird promo to be applied.
For the FUND RASING, Rachel and I have so far disposed a handful of tickets to some active batchmates from Angono and Taytay, Rizal for our THOR BLOCKED SCREENING. Still plenty of tickets are with us. Our target is to block-off two (2) SM Cinemas (equal to 826 seats). We have until October 15, 2013 to confirm to SM City Taytay Cinema if we will be getting two cinemas or not, together with the down-payment of at least 50% of the total guaranteed cost. So please, please, please… Let us all join forces in meeting up the target of selling 826 tickets!
For corporate and group sponsorships, I will be sending formal proposal letters to the following, as referred by some of our ever supportive batchmates:
a. Noemi Pablo-Doce, The Spa Area Sales Manager – C/o Noemi herself
b. Edward Snooker Dulla Jaranilla, PAL and PAL Express Head of Web Sales and Distribution – C/o Hershey Jaranilla

o. Siena College of Taytay Alumni Association – C/o Raymond Bonifacio
p. Gener Gozum – c/o Raymond Bonifacio
q. Brezza Wellness Center – c/o Raymond Bonifacio
r. Loreland Resort – c/o Raymond Bonifacio
As we understood, batchmates who are known to these possible sponsors shall do the follow-ups for us. Should you have other sponsors in mind, please feel free to share them and have the courtesy to make follow-ups for the sake of the Silver Event.
· Raymond also discussed other significant matters pertaining to our event:
1. Rublou Function Room
- overall cost P13,600 (8 hrs) @ P1,700 per hour
- seating arrangement (to be presented); seats to be reserved upon purchase of event tickets
- # of tables (20); # of seats per table (10); max capacity (200)
- stage (yes)
- dance floor (yes)
- permission to decorate (yes); decorating committee should be at the venue early
- smoking areas (available)
- parking (free)
Ø Joy De Leon raised-up this usual question: Why not in Siena Gym?
The following are the reasons, which I think would be valid enough:
- Our event will be held during summer, SCT Gym will definitely be hot and humid… and that would be an issue for some after the event (like what happened to Batch 88); Siena can just provide us with 2 industrial fans, unless somebody from our batch will sponsor electric fans enough to surround the whole gym.
- Availability of the SCT Gym in March, 2014 – Siena Management can’t confirm the availability to us this early due to graduation activities next year in elementary, high-school and college levels… yet we need to have a confirmed venue as early the first quarter of this year for announcements, tickets printing, sponsors, suppliers, etc. etc…. For me, venue availability can’t be the reason for us not to prepare as early as now. Not a big deal.
- I heard now that liquors are definitely banned either in Siena Gym or Siena HRM Hotel Function Room. Can you party to the max with just softdrinks, juices and waters running down your throat?
Ø Another question: Why March 29?
We graduated from High-school dated March 27, 1989… Now, March 29, 2014 is exactly 25 years and 2 days since that memorable day.
2. Catering Committee
Avengoza, Contact is Ms. Aimee # 0927-207-7935/655- 2089
- 2-way buffet style
- Cost P330/person
- menu (under discussion)
- desserts included
Ø Rachel suggested other catering options:
Heart and Soul Catering Services and CCME Catering Services based in QC – quotations will be sent to me for review anytime this week per Rachel
Lyn Vasquez also suggested Lysette, a batchmate. Quotation will also be sent for review.
As I’ve said, quality of food and service is the most important thing for me, not the price. I wanna get rid of any bad comments as far as food and beverages served, as much as possible.
3. Mobile Bar
Altitude Mobile Bar, Contact is Eric # 0908-237-5952/0927-748-6445/ 0932-631-9422
- overall cost P12,500
- 4 hrs unlimited
- includes water, ice, 3 sets of Pica-pica, 3 L Red Horse, games & prizes
- beer add-ons P6,000 (P750/case x 8 cases)
As Rachel suggested and AGREED DURING THE MEETING, MOBILE BAR WILL BE SCRAPPED. So I’m sorry ladies, no more premium and standard cocktails to be served. No more BARTENDERS to do the servings for us. No more bottle flaring and exhibitions. We just have to be contented with BEERS and other LIQUORS TO BE BOUGHT from 7/11 stores, including ICE CUBES. So, somebody has got to be busy with this by being the RUNNER. Buying liquors and Ice. Any volunteers?
Let us see if the caterer can lend us BEER GLASSES OR ANY OTHER LIQUOR GLASSES at no additional cost or at a minimal cost. Let us see if we can also ask additional waiters from the caterer to do the serving of liquors to us.
As suggested by MEROT, we have a batchmate named DINGDONG GATAPIA who is a dealer of SAN MIGUEL BEER KEGS. I will be coordinating with him. Jason Santos knows the contact number.
I am very much in favor of this Beer Keg arrangement, if the price will be cheaper than the P750 per case being offered by Altitude Mobile Bar. Problem will just be the Beer Glasses.
4. Event ticket (design to be presented)
- available December 1, 2013
- early bird promo: P250 before Dec. 31, 2013 midnight & a chance at an early bird prize; P350 afterwards
5. For the Event Pamphlet (for sponsors’ logo and other info):
Full page = P10k
Half page = P7k
Quarter page = P5k
Banner = P2k
Acknowledgement Corner = P1K
Center page (2 pages) = P20k (already reserved to the Goltebs)
6. Invitation / Evening Program (hard copy)
- Printing (Looking for supplier / Maybe the one who printed THOR Tickets)
- Cost to be advised
- deadline (Feb. 1, 2014)
7. Entertainment
Masters of ceremony: Raymond, Hershey & Tere Hernia
- Confirmed performer: Richard Reyes (Who else?)
- sequence of activities: opening prayer, speeches (opening & acknowledgement), honorary awards, dinner, raffle draws
- live band c/o Ferdie Fermin P8,000 (strictly 80’s and New Wave music)
8. Music/DJ
Mr. Mac Carzon of Deep Speed Mobile (strictly 80’s and New Wave Music to be played)
- Lights & sounds
- Overall cost P17,000 (includes LCD projector & screen)
- AV presentation during dinner
9. Committees (need volunteers)
- registration (contact Noreen)
- decorating (contact Rowena Melegrito Galulu or Joy de Leon)
- need to be at the venue early
10. Souvenirs (final designs to be presented)
EVENT SHIRT / ECO BAGS
Rachel suggested to buy/order bulk from DIVISORIA and look for printing services to do the shirt printing for us. This will be done in January, 2014. Per Rachel, there are POLO SHIRTS (Giordano type cloth material) available in DIVISORIA, same with Eco Bags.
We need volunteers to go with us and canvass for quality shirts in DIVISORIA in January, 2014.
Must be patient enough to bear the heat of the sun, the dust and smokes while in DIVISORIA.
For now, Roland Penaflorida and his committee are tasked to do the canvassing for the souvenirs to be given during the event.
11. Other things to be finalized in the next couple of months:
Post Event DVD – Look for Supplier
Photographer – Look for supplier
Videographer – Look for supplier
Photo Booth set-up – Look for supplier (Per Lyn Vasquez, Batchmate Mavie Castaneda supplies Photobooths for rent); will contact her… Further, per Hershey, batchmate Joseph Santos is willing to provide for the Photo Booth and Photographer as well. Hershey will finalize in the months to come.
Streamer / Stage Backdrop - Look for supplier
Raffle prizes (1st, 2nd, 3rd), Consolation prizes – to be purchased in February, 2014. (Abenson, SM Appliance Center, Quiapo, and other appliance stores);
12. Also, Projected budget / expenses in excel form was presented. No comments from the attendees. Let’s just work hard to achieve the target budget.
Next MEETING of OFFICERS and SECTION COORDINATORS will be on January 18, 2014. Final Ultimate meeting, involving the Officers, Section Coordinators, Event Coordinators and Batch Volunteers will be on MARCH 1, 2014 (First Saturday of the month)
Officers must meet all Saturdays of March, 2014 for updates and ironing until we get to the ultimate event on March 29, 2014.
Meeting adjourned @ 10:00 pm / Food and drinks were served
Weather: Rainy
Traffic Situation: Bad
Thank you.
